Oxygen content and microstructure in Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+δ

Resumen:
Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+δ samples with -0.06 < δ < 0.16 were prepared by controlled reduction in static hydrogen atmosphere and continuously monitored by thermogravimetry. Lattice parameters suggest that the 2212 superconducting phase is stable for δ > 0.12. ED patterns indicate that nonstoichiometry is accommodated by random distributionof anionic vacancies along the CuO layers.
