Resumen:
The global area of implanted forests is increasing. Particularly in Buenos Aires, Argentina,they are economically promoted. In this region, forests are planted on grasslands, which canlead to a decrease in plant diversity. In Azul, Buenos Aires, plots were installed in afforestationand grasslands to quantify ecological and forest parameters. A higher richness, diversity,evenness and lower percentage of alien species were found in the rocky area. These variableshad very similar values between the afforestations and the hillside grasslands. Theintroduction of afforestations generated variations in the ecological parameters. The impactscan be reduced with adequate silvicultural management.
