Analysis of Fiber-Fiber Interaction and Damage in Natural Fiber Composites

The purpose of the present work is a systematic study of natural fiber damage during all of steps involved in the compounding of natural fiber composites. The system under study is cellulose fiber reinforced polypropylene. The fiber parameters, length, diameter and aspect ratio are measured and their statistical distributions are obtained for each concentration study. The results are analyzed in terms of fiber concentration regimes and fiber-fiber interaction.
