Resumen:
NOTA: Este es el mismo trabajo que fue presentado en el Simposio Internacional de la IAG (International Association of Geodesy) en junio de 2008 en Grecia, el cual luego fue publicado en IAG Series: Gravity, Geoid and Earth Observation, 2010.Recent Earth Geopotential Models (EGMs) represent a great improvement to several applications related with the gravity field modeling. These models offer higher accuracy in the resolution of the geoid and gravity field. In this study, the behavior of the most recent models derived from GRACE and CHAMP missions, like EIGENs, together with the classic EGM96 and the new EGM2008 are analyzed and compared in Argentina, aiming to know which one fits better in the country. In the present investigation, the differences between EGMs and geoid undulation values (calculated with altimetry data provided from GPS and spirit leveling) and gravity anomalies (obtained from terrestrial gravimetric campaigns) are studied. In principle, a greater difference with the earth geopotential models arisen from satellite-only data is detected, and the EGMs that perform better results are those that include in their calculation satellite altimetry and terrestrial information. The residual statistic of the comparison of local data with the results from seven global models is shown.
