A numerical model of pollutant transport has been used to simulatethe dispersion of tracer clouds in the surf zone. The model is based on aLagrangian approach to the 3D convection-diffusion equation, and reproducesturbulent diffusion using the ?random-walk? algorithm. The results are comparedwith data obtained from digitally processed video recordings of tracersreleased in the SZ, in order to estimate the quality of the modelling output.
