Vertical transmission efficiency of Neotyphodium grass symbiont in grasslands of the Flooding Pampa

 Cool-season grasses establish symbioses with vertically transmitted Neotyphodium endophytes. Symbiosis persistence may depend on transmission efficiency, which has been poorly evaluated. Here, we show that infected plants can produce variable proportion of uninfected seeds, depending on the host species and the vegetation unit considered.
