p { margin-bottom: 0.25cm; line-height: 120%; }Numerous recentreviews have emphasized that future needs for food and nutritionsecurity will have to be addressed by transitioning to regenerativesystems of food production based on an effective and enhanced use ofecosystem services that minimize negative impactswhile improving orat least stabilizing yields (TheRoyal Society 2009; Foley et al.2011). The International Symposium on Agroecology for FoodSecurityand Nutrition, held at FAO headquarters in September2014underlined that agroecological approaches may offer such an alternatepath to agricultural development as they integrate ecologicalprinciples as well as social and economic concerns into agriculturalproduction and the wider food system (FAO,2015). Although broadreviews of Agroecology already exist (Wezelet al. 2009), a systematicoverview of the effects of agroecological practices on socio-economicindicators reflecting impacts on farmers sustainable livelihoods iscurrently lackingp { margin-bottom: 0.25cm; line-height: 120%; }
