Resumen:
In general, the archeological study of the Inka Empire has developed a top-down perspective. Moreover, and in the cases in which local societies have been studied in order to understand the impact of Inka conquest, researchers were mainly interested in the changes produced on the economic and political structures. In this paper I want to contribute to our understanding of the relationship between the Inka Empire and conquered societies, but from a household perspective. I will explore how Inka domination changed local domestic life in aspects such as economic activities, consumption, status differentiation, and cultural practices.
