Resumen:
Movement and life have been considered together from the beginning ofthe philosophy in the western world. In the context of scientificapproaches, movement has been frequently addressed in relation to allorganizational levels of living beings, from molecules to ecosystems.Embryonic cells migrate to reach their fate fixed already in thezygote; swarms migrate to reach an appropriate place on earth; a handmoves to reach an object; foetal movement is necessary to reachhealthy joints and movement disorders generate profound disabilitiesand strongly handicapped bodies. As distinct as these themes seem tobe, all of them are related to movement, and highlight its deepengagement and importance for all aspects of the activities andhealth of living beings. With this presentation Ioffer ideas and studies dealing with movement in a biologicalcontext. My main goal is to presentthenotion of movement from a scientific perspectives turning it anobject of interdisciplinaryenquiry. Increasedreciprocal knowledge and understanding between disciplines andperspectives will contribute to uncover movement as one of thestrongest and subtle links between life, health and well-being.
