Resumen:
Catalytic stacked wire mesh cartridges were prepared by coating stainless steel monoliths with Co,Ce catalyst. The scaling-up of the SL-monolith (laboratory scale) was achieved by stacking 40 meshes with a diameter of 13 cm within a metallic housing. The catalyst was incorporated to each mesh by the washcoating technique.Preliminary experiments in a test bench showed the high permeability of the wire mesh structure. The DOC + DPF configuration, accomplished by the addition of a ceramic paper between the last two meshes, also resisted adequately the high diesel engine exhaust flows. Results show that for the soot collected inside the DOC + DPF from bench tests, soot combustion temperature resulted somewhat higher to that obtained with lab soot, probably due a worse soot-to-catalyst contact.
