Resumen:
Carbonaceousparticles emitted into the atmosphere come from different combustion processesin industries, power plants and means of transport. Soot particles are carriersof harmful organic compounds, and can cause various diseases. Dieselengines are considered one of the main sources of soot, being important notonly the mass emitted, but also the size of the particles, since the smallerthe size, the greater the penetration into the lungs. Until now, dieselparticulate filters have been the most effective way to remove these particles,as they have the capacity to retain them by filtration and then burn them insitu with the action of a catalyst duly incorporated into the filter, takingadvantage of the high temperatures generated in the exhaust pipes. In this framework, the elaboration of particulate filtersfrom flexible materials such as ceramic papers was proposed, with the additionof active phases, Co,Ce or Co,Ba,K, for the combustion of different types ofdiesel soot.
