Resumen:
The Government of the Province of Chaco, through the the Federal Investment Council (CFI), is developing a project for the use of alternative energies at the Provincial Government Building that includes a set of photovoltaic panels and a medium-sized wind turbine to be installed on the terrace of this building. Its objective, in addition to generating its own energy, is to promote the use of clean energy in official areas. Through an agreement between the Provincial Energy Secretariat, the CFI and the of the Universidad Nacional del Nordeste (UNNE), the Laboratorio de Aerodinámica of the UNNE has carried out wind tunnel tests in order to determine the aerodynamic loads that the solar panels must support. The procedure established in the Argentine Wind Regulation CIRSOC 102 do not specifically contemplate these devices. The complexity of the aerodynamic effects in case of mounting on tall buildings may be greater than in the case of panels distributed on the earth's surface. The work presents an analysis of the wind load coefficients on solar panels, through measurements with reduced-scale models in the UNNE wind tunnel.
