Soft-Switching Analysis for Three-Port Bidirectional DC-DC Converters

The behavior of three-port bidirectional DC-DCconverters (TPC) under soft-switching mode for hybrid electricvehicles is analyzed in this paper. The principle of power flowcontrol and the operation under soft-switching mode are studiedto establish the converter operation range. All this allows toestablish design criteria to operate the TPC under soft-switchingwithin a wide operation region. The parameters considered arethe transformer turns ratio and the leakage inductance of thetransformer, which allows determine the maximum power thatcan be transferred. Simulation results that validate the analysisare also presented.
