Resumen:
Power sources or storage-systems like fuel cells, batteries and ultracapacitors in Electric and Hybrid Electric Vehicles require the use of high performance dc-dc converters in order to interface them with the vehicle electric system. This work is devoted to study bi-directional dc-dc converter topologies suited for this application. Two topologies are compared, one is a half bridge converter (non-isolated), and the other is a transformer coupled dc-ac-dc converter (isolated). Design parameters concerning active and passive components are compared as well as performance parameters like overall efficiency. Furthermore, operation constrains are analyzed in both topologies. Finally, experimental results are presented in order to compare the efficiency
