Resumen:
In the context of a world with a scarcity of materials and energy that aims to significantly reduce the amount of waste emitted, this work presents the study of the thermal decomposition of Rosa rubiginosa rosehip husk waste by slow pyrolysis to obtain experimental results on the products obtained and the reactions that occur during the process. By thermogravimetry, it was possible to isolate six different decomposition steps in the pyrolysis process. Each step was related to the decomposition of different lignocellulosic components contained in the rosehip husk waste (RHW). To analyze the products obtained by slow pyrolysis, the experiment was carried out in a tubular fixed-bed reactor connected to an FTIR spectrometer to measure the absorbance spectra of the gases released (CO, CO2, CH4, C2H4 and CH3OH). The bio-oil was collected and analyzed by GC-MS. Finally, the solid fraction that remained (biochar) was analyzed by a scanning electron microscope (SEM). This work presents the basics that are fundamental for the construction of a pilot-scale pyrolysis reactor for the production of products and energy and add value to a residue that is currently wasted.
