Resumen:
The aim of the present study is to describe the importance of three visual cues of the host habitat (color, shape, and size) on the host searching process of the females of D. longicaudata. Also, we were interested in analyzing how the previous experience of the females could modify the innate (naïve) behavior, and how the relevant visual cues could interact among them. Working on controlled laboratory conditions, we followed individual females and analyzed the response only of those females that showed recognized behaviors associated to host searching, and thus our results reflect the importance of visual cues on a host foraging context.
