Resumen:
Polluted soil is a reservoir of tolerant fungi, which can be isolated to employ them in mycoremediation. Tolerance is a relevant characteristic for selecting fungal strains capable of growing in the presence of heavy metals. A very interesting and effective strategy for the isolation of tolerant fungi is the spread plate method. Tolerance can be measured by plaque screening technique, and fungal development can be understood by predictive mycology. Therefore, tolerant isolates have a promising ability to be applied in the bioremediation of heavy metals.
