Resumen:
The HCl competition in the H2PtCl6 deposition on Al2O3 pellets to obtain 0.38% Pt was studied. The radial profiles of platinum and chlorine surface concentration for different HCl concentrations in the impregnating solution were measured. For low HCl concentrations the Pt penetrations into the pellet are incomplete and the Pt profiles sharply decrease towards the interior whereas the Cl profiles increase. Both profiles are uniform for high HCl concentration. The results were interpreted through a mathematical model based on a diffusion adsorption process with very fast and irreversible H2PtCl6, and HCl adsorptions.
