Resumen:
Grindelic acid (1) is a natural product that has been isolated in large amount from severalspecies of Grindelia genus.1 Herein we report on the application of well known chemicalreactions in the easily synthesis of new grindelic derivatives in order to obtain structuralcomplexity and chemical diversity. Families of compounds derived from grindelic acid havebeen synthesized using, for example, Huisgen reaction,2 Sharpless asymmetric epoxidation,3and multicomponent Ugi reaction.4 Every new compound was submitted to antiproliferativeactivity against human solid tumor cell lines (HBL-100, HeLa, SW 1573, WiDr).In this communication, we will present the structures synthesized and the results of biologicalactivity assays.
