Resumen:
We have evaluated PM2.5 concentrations in Mendoza Metropolitan Area to determine the PM2.5 exposure on cyclists, using low-cost PM2.5 sensors, WRF-CALPUFF modeling and estimating the inhaled dose. Conclusions are: PM2.5 concentrations increased during periods with highest vehicular activity. The highest levels of simulated PM2.5 were found in major streets of the Mendoza Metropolitan Area.Cyclists should choose alternative routes to major roads avoiding vehicular rush hours at mid-morning and mid-afternoon to circulate through the city. The results provide valuable information to improve public policies about cyclist circulation and PM2.5 exposure.
