Historical archaeology research focused onArgentinean and Latin-American past has experi- enced an outstanding growth during the last 25 years. Such a development demanded for spe- cialized publications. Despite abundant research carried out within this field in Argentina, peer- reviewed journals did not exist until 10 years ago. In 2007, a publication with the main goal of gathering Latin-American research results and becoming a regional reference for the specialty was created. The Revista de Arqueología Histórica Argentina y Latinoamericana/Journal of Argentine and Latin-American Historical Archaeology (ISSN 1851?3190) was conceived as a peer-reviewed publication of semiannual periodicity. Later, this journal became open access and is currently available at www.arqhistorica.com.ar.It is mainly dedicated to the publication of original contributions in the field of historical archaeology, as well as in related disciplines (history, historical anthropology, and ethnohis- tory, among others). The articles consider episte- mic, theoretical, and methodological aspects and specific results of Latin-American case studies.
