Resumen:
Food sovereignty as a political movement, as a praxis, and as a life philosophy, has received attention from various academic fields over the past two decades. In this paper we review how the fields of Ethnobiology and Archaeology in Argentina have directly or indirectly addressed food sovereignty as a research topic, and as a political positioning within the scientific practice. We also explore how the current debate on food sovereignty in these fields has resulted from multivocality, where scientific, indigenous and peasant individuals and collectives build shared knowledge based on diverse experiences on past and present food systems. Finally, we discuss how Argentine Ethnobiologists and Archaeologists can continue contributing to the struggle for food sovereignty and a “Sumaj Kawsay” (Good Living) way of life.
