Resumen:
This presentation describes the preliminary results of archaeological research regarding to Inka economy in the southern Andes through examination of the production and distribution of ceramics used in state-controlled activities . Toward this end, instrumental neutron activation analysis (INAA) has been undertaken on 459 samples (pottery = 414) and clay samples (N = 45) from Inka provinces in northwestern Argentina (N= 302) (in the modern Salta, Jujuy, and Catamarca provinces), Northern Chile (N= 94), and the Bolivian Altiplano (N=18) .
