The representation of the religio in Aeneid

This study analyzes the representation of roman religio in the Aeneid, defined this concept as the pragmatic way of the contact between men and gods and establishing the rite as its material expression. Given the perspective exposed by Anne Swidler , which proposes to consider culture as a practice that influences the actions , not as ultimate goal , but through repertoires , habits, skills and styles from which subjects construct action strategies; we establish the rites present in the work as " cultural keys ": distinctive elements serving as a cultural configuration guide given and naturalized by its members which establish a set of social relations , or , in the case that concerns us , representations of these relationships made by the poet in Aeneid. The study of these configurations allows us to reveal the construction of Roman identity and memory by Virgil, seen as a cultural actor who not only reproduced the imperial scheme but also involved in this construction. The goal is to study the peculiarity of the gaze of the poet on ritual, its systematization and rationalization.
