Resumen:
In this article, we relate the Augustan aim of establishing a civic order through religion and the way of representation of this religious policy in the Aeneid by Virgil. We consider that Augustus tried to extend the principles of the worship of the domestic sphere into the public sphere, making these principles a model of social organization. Our goal is then to analyze how Virgil gives historical dimension to this change. To do this, we describe the use of the term religio in the work and, from this study; we analyze the major deities and rituals that belonged primarily to the domestic sphere to highlight its functionality in the Aeneid.
