Resumen:
The distance from the Sun to the center of theGalaxy R0 remains a fundamental parameter for Galacticstructure. This study uses 105,275 G, K, and M stars ofall luminosity classes with position, parallax, and propermotion taken from the Hipparcos catalog and radial velocitiesfrom the Wilson and Strasbourg Data Center catalogs. The nonlinear kinematical equations of condition aresolved by the Nelder-Mead simplex algorithm and giveR0 = 7.64 ± 0.09 kpc. At a confidence level of 90 % onecan assert the randomness of the residuals and shows thatthe kinematical model yields satisfactory results.
