Resumen:
Thegoal of this research paper is to analyze and systematize the scope, limitations and challenges of the information sources officially produced inArgentina over the past 15 years, in order to monitor the exercise of the rightto health of the elderly. A compilation of indicators proposed mainly by theLatin American and Caribbean Demographic Center (CELADE) - Population Divisionof the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) iscarried out in the framework of different international conferences, and thepossibilities of implementation are analyzed, with a view from a humanrights-based approach. Among the main conclusions, it can be highlighted thatArgentina has a set of sources of information that allow addressing asignificant number of indicators. However, for key measures in this populationgroup, the main sources of information do not allow monitoring differencesbetween different socioeconomic and geographical groups nor do they allowmonitoring their evolution, thus they do not admit a view from the rights-basedapproach.
