Resumen:
Introduction of a new method of digital colposcopy. Materials and methodsThe colposcopic method introduced employs digital technology, with an appropriate setting of the hardware and software of the computer connected to the colposcope with a video camera. This video camera captures colposcopic images in two dimensions, and tridimensional images (3D) are obtained with specific software and procedure. Results:The 3D images allow the observation of different aspects of the epithelial surfaces from various perspectives. The application of the tridimensional colposcopy to medical practice creates a different type of images, and its utility should be evaluated for future investigations.
