Even though little is known about how learning takes place, the plastic nature of synaptic connections is believed to play a key role in the process. In this work we study the dynamics of a driven nonlinear oscillator displaying subharmonic solutions when its coupling with the driver is plastic. We derive an equation to account for the plastic evolution of the coupling coefficient which is compatible with Hebb´s rules. We find that for plastic driving, the locking regions are band-shaped, instead of the well known Arnold´s tongues found in the case of constant amplitude periodic driving.
