Resumen:
This paper presents a digital image processingsoftware implementation to identify and study models of infectionrelated to Chagas disease caused by Trypanosoma cruzi parasite.The main objective is predicting disease progression to decide theappropriate treatment depending on the tissue damage observedand evaluate the effectiveness of these treatments in diminishingthe structural alterations. For this reason, digital images fromcolored tissue samples are collected, to be able perform thequantification of inflammatory infiltrate present in thesesamples. This quantification process automation guaranteesgreater accuracy, objectivity obtaining results and savings inprocessing times of the samples involved. The software alsoincludes a unique image repository and metadata implementationto provide more efficiency in post-processing activities
