Resumen:
This article aims at reviewing the reception of several dramas composed by Shakespeare in Argentina. The influence of the Dictatorship (1976-1983)upon some translation practices is examined. Two adaptations deserve particular attention: Luis Cano´s El Hamlet de William Shakespeare and Griselda Gambaro´s La Señora Macbeth. References to some political taboos, censorship and allusions are focused on.
