Abstract: The Chilean genus Gyrasida Koch nov. stat is studied, transferred from Asidini to Praocini and five new species are described: G. camilae nov. sp., G. fernandoi nov. sp., G. franciscae nov. sp., G. lucianoi nov. sp., and G. tomasi nov. sp. Reasons for transferring the group to Praocini are discussed, and a key for the species is given. A comment on biogeography of the genus and their habitat and a brief historical comment are given.
