Resumen:
Ribbons composed of Fe78Si9B13 were produced by a rapid solidification technique (melt-spinning). After grinding them in a ball miller, we obtained powders with typical particle sizes in the range of 100-200 µm. The crystallization kinetic of these amorphous precursors was followed by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) up to 600ºC, while X-ray diffraction (XRD) was employed to determine structure and phase composition. We measured the magnetic properties of annealed samples. Their typical specific magnetizations are around 140 Am2Kg-1 and their coercivities lower than 5 Am-1 being them comparable with previous work. The composite cores were made by embedding the base powders in a non metallic polymeric matrix at different volume fractions. In this work, we show a comparison between magnetic properties of the composites with those corresponding to the original powders. It is also discussed the possible application of the obtained cores as rotors of electrical machines
