?De proletarios a propietarios?? Neoliberal hegemony, labour commodification and family relationships in a smallsteel workers? firmThe article aims to analyse the contradictory development of neoliberal ideological principles and social experience among two steel workers generations in Argentina: the employers, former steel workers who owned a small firm born during the productive restructuration process; and the employees, most of them sons of the owners. The ethnographic medium term approach allows the identification of changing expectations and practices of ones and others, as expression of the contradiction between market principles ? that entail labour commodification - andfamily relationships ? involving personalized and affective links.The article is organized on three topics: the first is a brief depiction of productive restructuration and privatizations processes, their consequences over working class and over steel workers, considering the creation of the small firm as part of this process. The second topic is about the relationships between ?workers ? owner? expectations and market conditions imposed by the main firm. The third topic is about the break of those expectations and the unionization process developed bythe ?young generation?, which assumes classic working class actions and practices
