40% of Argentina's population (approximately 16 million people) lives in the urban area established by the City of Buenos Aires and the metropolitan area. Due to a lack of planning combined with a careless use of the environment, there is a severe impact on water courses and the riparian forest remnants linked to the urban matrix. Among them, the Matanza-Riachuelo and Reconquista basins, and the waterfront of the De la Plata River are the most affected. We evaluated the use of land along 70 km of coastline.
