Summary: An ethnobotany study about the orchids based on information obtained in some guarani communities of Misiones forest, is presented here. The importance of a total of 14 ethno-species is reported. Some concepts of sustainable use criteria inherent to native cultures, are validated. Finally, the problem of excesive harvesting for commercial destination is analyzed by means of someone guidelines to support the communities.
