Resumen:
In this paper we present several applications of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for the analysis of a genomic lambda gt11 library. The objective was to study the suitability of the PCR method for the following applications:1. estimating how representative the library was.2. differentiating recombinant phages from phages with no insert.3. monitoring plaque purification.4. determining individual insert size.5. amplifying inserts to obtain an amount of DNA useful to be labeled and used as a probe.
