Resumen:
We reported herein, the degradation of three dyes (orange G, amido black
10b and alizarin red) using Fenton-like process. Experiments were performed
with each dye separately and with mixtures of the dyes. In all cases, the degradation
rates of each dye increased with Fe(III) concentration, decreased with dye
concentration and showed a maximum for H2O2
concentration. Multivariate Curve Resolution-Alternating Least Squares (MCR-ALS)
was used to calculate the kinetic profiles of the dyes from the matrices of absorbance
spectra at different reaction times. In single-dye experiments, the results
obtained by applying quimiometric analysis showed a good concordance with those
obtained with HPLC. In contrast, for experiments performed with mixtures of
dyes, the mathematical approach showed some limitations depending on the nature
of the mixtures
