The province of Tucuman is the main producer of sugar cane in Argentina; almost 70% of the surface is sown with sugar cane of the country and produces the 57% of the sugar,supplying with the provinces of Salta and Jujuy, basically for the national market. The agroindustrial complex that has been developed around the processing of the sugar cane had its origins in the last third of the XIX century. The central objective of this work is to describe and to explain which changes haven taken place in the Tucuman agroindustrial sugar complez in the nineties by the light of the process of economic deregulation. The secondaries objectives are analize the different economic agents inside the complex after deregulation and to explain the effects of the new productive logic.
