Resumen:
We evaluate rare earth elements (REE) tetrad effects in granites La Quebrada (Sierra de Mazán), San Blas and Huaco (Sierra de Velasco), La Rioja province, all of which are highly evolved and related to Sn and W mineralization. The REE distributions in the studied granites are assessed following the methods of Irber (1999) and Monecke (2002, 2007). We also determine if the tetrad effect correlate with the Zr/Hf geochemical ratio and with the Eu anomaly (Eu/Eu*). In the studied granites, the REE produce convex M-type patterns with tetrad effect verified by both methods. The Zr/Hf and Eu/Eu* ratios show negative correlations with tetrad effects. Our results suggest that the tetrad effect develops in parallel with granite evolution and is restricted to highly differentiated granites.
