Resumen:
In this work concepts and topics of data assimilation methods are developed, more precisely theory about the Kalman filter. This filter will be applied to chemistry transport models in order to improve the forecasting of ozone in the area of Berlin. In order to do that, we first compare two chemistry transport models over the area of interests in a specific date. The chemistry transport models studied are REGOZON (model developed by the Fraunhofer FIRST Institute-Berlin) and POLAIR3D (model developed by the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussees-Paris) including a meteorological preprocessing tool in order to get meteorological fields for the chemistry models. The quality of the simulation will be evaluated comparing observations provided by observation stations.
