Resumen:
Pseudomerulius curtisii is a widely distributed species around the world, known in North America, Asia, Oceania and South America (Brazil), being an introduced species in most of these regions as a saprophytic fungus closely associated with pine plantations. It is characterized by exhibiting an effused-reflexed basidiome tending to be dimidiated when it grows, a pubescent upper surface of the pileus with a grayish-yellow to brownish-yellow color when mature and a yellow to reddish-brown merulioid hymenophore depending on its maturity and moisture, besides cylindrical to ellipsoidal, yellowish spores. The hyphal system is monomitic, composed by sinuous, branched with ampulliform clamp connections hyphae. In this study, we describe and illustrate it based on collections made between 2015 and 2022 in northeastern Argentina and Paraguay.
