Resumen:
Silicon ultrafine particles have been obtained from SiH4 by laser irradiation under different experimental conditions. The powders produced are amorphous except for those obtained at 350°C which are a mixture of amorphous and crystalline particles. Sizes are in the range 2?54 nm and mean diameters between 5.3 and 8.1 nm. The particle sizes fit a narrow, log-normal distribution function (LNDF). No significant variation in size is observed with increase of pressure or temperature within the studied interval.
