Resumen:
Theenvironmental concern for reducing petroleum dependence has promoted the use ofrenewable polymers. In relation with this and to avert the use of organicsolvents, waterborne polyurethanes (WBPU) synthesized from several biobased diolsare gaining interest during last years. Moreover, waterborne systems facilitatethe incorporation of water dispersible reinforcements such as cellulosenanocrystals (CNC), which have focused attention due to high aspect ratio andexceptional mechanical properties. The aim of this work is to preparenanocomposites based on WBPU reinforced with different contents of CNC isolatedfrom sisal fibres.
