Resumen:
This research aims to analyse German Education in Argentina. The investigation will focus on Germany?s attitude towards German education beyond its frontiers; in this case in Argentina. As a consequence of this, it leads to a study of the attitude of German overseas schools. In the same vein, this research concentrates on the analysis of German policy regarding its overseas educational establishments in general and in particular in Argentina, highlighting the periods of continuity and discontinuity between past and present and the objectives assigned by Germany to its schools in this South American country. Our approach to the problem of the research envisages a focus on both a macro and micro level combining it with an analysis of the general worldwide German school network and especially in the Argentine setting. With regard to the latter point, it seems evident that the angle to analyse in this research is that of the German State rather than the Argentine. The reason for such a choice is that the institutional link which the schools have with Germany appears to be a most unclear factor for Argentine educational sociology, assuming it is an important contribution to the national education system in general and in particular the privately managed sector. Furthermore, the way in which German education in Argentina is conducted suggests an interesting contribution to the structure on which overseas German education is built.
