Resumen:
The external morphology of the larvae of the bufonids Bufo fernandezae and Bufo granulosus major are described, and compared with larvae of the remaining species of Bufo inhabiting the Argentinian Chaco (Bufo arenarum, B. paracnemits y B. pygmaeus). The proctodeal tube of Bufo fernandezae tadpoles opens medially and this is a unique trait among the other Chacoan tadpoles of the genus Bufo with two rows of infraangular keratodonts. The presence of a cylindrical proctodeal tube, with dorsal and ventral margins of equal length, characterizes Bufo granulosus major tadpoles among the Chacoan Bufo tadpoles with three rows of infraangular keratodonts.
