Resumen:
Elastomeric polymers with physical, covalent and/or associative “crosslinking” linkages present viscoelastic behaviors that can be nonlinear or linear depending on the strain range considered in the test. The addition of nanocellulose (NC) usually results in the enhancement of the viscoelastic response, predominantly increasing the elastic contribution. In this chapter, the liquid-like response of the materials will be covered with particular focus on the results of the steady shear tests, start-up of the steady shear response, complex viscosity and frequency oscillatory scan tests applied to the NC suspensions and the mixtures of these nanoparticles (NPs) already incorporated in reactive monomers (in a prevulcanization stage), rubber latexes and in molten thermoplastic elastomers. Moreover, a brief presentation of the rheological behavior of NC suspensions is also initially included as a basis to understand the effect of these NPs in a continuous media.
