Resumen:
Modern trends indicate the use of pulping processes that require less chemicals being morefriendlier to the environment. This is the case of the NSSC (Neutral Sulfite Semi-Chemical)process where there is a need for disposing spent liquors economically and ecologically. Abetter knowledge of chemical composition and characteristics of solubilized substancescombined with the proper separation techniques is a must. The present work is concerned withthe quantitation and qualification of organic components in spent liquors. Hemicelluloses andlignosulfonates molecular weights are estimated with the objective of evaluate if a molecularseparation of this species is possible using ultrafiltration.
