Resumen:
This family is represented by one genus and eight species in the New World. McAtee and Malloch (1928a) revised the group and McDonald (1979) studied the male and female genitalia of several species. The family status was established by ?tys and Kerzhner (1975). This family is strictly Neotropical.No Argentinian records for the species of this family have been found.
