Resumen:
The following Argentina records of 55 species in 34 genera.The elevation of this group from subfamily position under the Lygaeidae to full family status with two subfamilies, Plinthisinae and Rhyparochrominae, resulted from Henry?s (1997a, 284) analysis, Sweet?s (1967) revision of the tribal classification within the lygaeid ?subfamily Rhyparochrominae? included a key (pages 210?212) to 14 tribes; Schuh and J. Slater (1995, 259?260) also gave a key to 14 tribes, including thereunder the ?Plinthisini? which Henry (1997a, 296) later raised to subfamily level.
